Hunting in the North West Province, South Africa

Hunting in the North West Province, South Africa - Overview

Somerby Safaris works very hard to maintain a very good reputation and working relationship with Nature Conservation Services in South Africa to be able to hunt in the prestigious North West provincial parks. Hunting in the North West province of South Africa is an experience in itself.

The hunting area is fairly flat and dry in the west, becoming bushveld towards the east. The North West province is so unique in that the topography resembles that of both the Limpopo and the Kalahari, ensuring a variety of plains game. The North West province forms the southern part of the Kalahari Desert and offers almost year-round sunshine.

Hunting in the North West province offers fantastic springbuck, gemsbuck, kudu, impala, warthog, common/grey duiker, bushbuck and klipspringer hunting.

There are a great deal of activities for non-hunters when hunting in the North West province. In the immediate vicinity we can visit the spectacular Sun City Resort, where we can pay a visit to the vibrant cultural village or have a sophisticated high tea at the magnificent Palace of the Lost City. Photo safaris are made possible at the close-by Pilanesburg Game Reserve, where you can see animals like elephant, rhino, giraffe, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, and much more. Also within travelling distance are the lion, elephant and cheetah sanctuaries.
